River trams (Part 1)

Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of internal and external river passenger transport in the USSR. Newly presented short main types of relevant courts and some short technical descriptions.

Keywords: local shipping, river trams, passenger ships, internal water transport of Moscow.

The internal passenger traffic along the Moscow Region, which, having gained a wide width since the 1920s, played an important role in the life of the capital.

Next, indicate what Russian Empire the first "river trams", such vessels, designated for domestic passenger transportation, appeared on the cob of the XX century in St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kiev and other places. Small boats-steamboats were victorious like "trams". In the rich places of European Russia, the Finnish association of light steam navigation acted as the leader of these lines, and steam boats took away the name "Finland" among the people (near Nizhny Novgorod it turned out to be "f_lyanchik").

Moscow river trams appeared 1923 p. At the same time, they were supervised by the Moscow-Oksk administration of river transport (MOURT), and in 1933 a special Moscow primіske steamship was organized. The steamship fleet consisted of 70 small boats built by the Gorodetsky shipyard, which took on board 40 - 100 passengers. In pre-war Moscow, the routes Kamyaniy Mist - Zaozer'ya and Dorogomilovskiy Mist - the AMO plant were especially popular.

Postupovo river trams began to appear in other places of the SRSR. The skin was the place of self-driving ship, so their models were differentiated by appearance, type of power plant, and by design features. Until the mid-1930s, river transport became part of the transport system of Moscow, Leningrad, Gorky, Stalingrad, Rostov-on-Don and other places. River trams began to victorious on the primisky transportation. At the same time, the first lines were grown at the right standardization and unification of the dry warehouse of the city's river transport.

In 1930, a group of winemakers under S.P. Budarin’s ceremonies created a typical heat transfer for internal transportation. The whole boat, the shards of the river trams, had to moor not only to the stationary piers and landing stages, but also to the moorings of the shore itself. The boats were designed to be small and short - otherwise it would be important for them to deploy and maneuver around the coast and separate from other ships.

Vrakhovuchi, that river trams were used on different pools, the designers created two versions of the boat, which, with the same dimensions, were worried about the tightness of the power plant: one had one 50-horsepower diesel engine, and the other one had two of the same engines. The back of the boat was equipped with imported engines; then they began to install diesel engines and tension, which were produced by the Voronezsky plant.

In order to speed up and make life cheaper, the motor ships were made to work with wooden and composite materials. In the meantime, if the kerіvnitstvo of the Rechsoyuzverf (the main organization, as it coordinated and directed the activities of all shipbuilding factories, as if they were consecrated to the People's Commissariat for Water Transport) launched a mass production of river trams, they began to manufacture them from metal buildings.

Structurally, the cabules of the vessel with the most beautiful contours of the bow part and the stern tunnel, which protected the guinea and kermo from hitting the water crossings. At the middle part of the hull, closer to the stern, there was a machine compartment. The new one had a diesel engine, a fire tank with a capacity of 250 liters, and an illuminating unit of the L-3 brand. The boat has a length of up to 21.3 m, a width of up to 4.5 m, a height of the side is 1.2 m, a draft at the deck is 0.7 m, and a speed of about 14 km / year is being developed.

For passengers, it was supposed to close the accommodation in the bow overhead, as well as the maidan on the її dahu and on the head deck - behind the wheelhouse. 119 seats were installed there, similar to quiet ones, which were stuck on the "land" trams. Reshta passengers at the “peak” year had to stand in the aisles between the chairs and the sides, the felling. Truthfully, after an hour the flights were no more trivial. The maximum passenger capacity of the vessel was 140 osib. Crew - 2 individuals.

Such boats were produced in three variants. At Dnipropetrovsk, they were made with metal, at Gorky - with composite, and at the Moscow and Gorodetsky shipyards - with wood. The vessels were operated by the Verkhnyo-Volzky, Middle-Volzky, Nizhnyo-Volzky river steamships and the Moscow Primorsky steamship. At the rocks of the Great Veteran War, the stench of the boules was converted into minesweepers and took their part in the battles near the warehouse of the Volzka flotilla.

Also in 1932 - 1933 pp. Balakivsky shipbuilding plant launched a series of river vantage-passenger double-top wheeled motor ships of the Dynamivets type. The series included six ships: "Dynamievets" (renamed to "Ernst Krenkel", then "Altai"), "Calibruvalnik" ("Ivan Papanin", "Arktika"), "Zvaryuvalnik" ("Memory of Kirov"), "Kremlin "and" Energetik "(" N.S. Khrushchov ").

Have 1937 r. the banner of the history of our country was celebrated - the Moscow-Volga canal was opened (later the channel named after Moscow). And two years before that, the orderly praise was on the 8th of Spring, 1935. a decision was made about the creation of a series of special "channel" ships. All orders were placed on Golovrichprom NKTC and Narkomvod. Organized under the People's Commissariat of Transportation, the Bureau for the Operational Development of the Volga-Moscow Canal has made contact with the appointed managers of the first ships - river trams. The original design of the passenger ship for the Volga-Moscow canal was designed by Rechsudoprom near Leningrad.

The life of the new canal ships was born of the same fate at the Sormivsky plant. On the first їх (type "Klim Voroshilov") dviguns of Sormovo production were installed with a pressure of 350 k.s. at 350 rpm. The ships had a small water tonnage of 576 tons, a weight capacity of 113 tons and a draft of 1.25 m. To complete the splendid look of the ship, the traditional railings of the fence were replaced with a bulwark. Among the ships of long-distance navigation were motor ships of the Josip Stalin type, six 300-year motor ships of the Levanivsky type, and six small motor ships of the Gromiv type.

The shipbuilders took the sketches of artists into bagnets. Engineers said that in this fantastic shape there are no cars, no passenger cabins. Technologists have confirmed, from a future point of view, projects may not be made yet.

Protefully, the whole winding was true to itself: for a while the eskіzіs were boiled super-kidneys, shipbuilding workers made their own corrections. Postupovo іnzheneri and artists moved.

Small motor ships of the Levanivsky and Gromiv types were assigned for domestic and domestic flights. Both types of ships were named in honor of the pilots, the first Heroes of the Radian Union.

Vessels of the first type: "Levanivsky", "Lyapidevsky" (renamed to "Khimki"), "Doronin" (renamed to "Kashira"), "Kamanin" (renamed to "Komsomolets"), "Molokov" (renamed to "Zhovten ""), "Slepnyov" (renamed to "Dove").

Vessels of a different type: "Gromov" (renamed to "Burevisnik"), "Chkalov" (renamed to "Rechnik"), "Baidukov" (renamed to "Lebid"), "Belyakov" (renamed to "Sokil", renamed to "Yoshkar-Ola"), "Vodop'yanov" (renamed to "Seagull", "Cosmonaut"), "Kokkinaki" (renamed to "Lastivka").

The design of a motor ship of the Levanivsky type was entrusted to the Central Design Bureau Rechsudproekt near Leningrad (project designers: the head of the hull department Y. Benois and the head of the design sector - the head designer of the projects M. Loshinsky). Two variants of the architectural solution of the motor ship were divided - “closed” (with the over-bud, closed in the bow part) and “vіdkrit” (with the open over-bud). The “closed” version of the design bureau itself, the author of the “opened” version of the artist Zozulya, who won the competition held by the People's Commissariat of Water Transport, for the best design of the future motor ship. The architect L. Rudnev took part in the design of the ship's exterior and interior appearance. The armchair for the corps was made by the corps officer of Lenrechsudoproekt (ceramist I.Girs). Blowing models of both variants was carried out in the aerodynamic tube of the Leningrad University.

The development of both variants of the vessel was completed in 1935. After reviewing these projects, the People's Commissariat for Water Transport was praised for the decision to launch a series of "review" options.

The life of ships of the Levanivsky type, as it was planned more, was carried out at the Chervone Sormovo plant near Gorky. Specially for the preparation of polished furniture and wooden panels for the interiors of the motor ship in the workshops, they created new wooden boards, and bent windows for cutting and frontal part of the overhead dam at Moscow factories.

Two first steamships of the Levanivsky type started their voyages along the Moscow-Volga Canal on 2 January 1937, before the official announcement. And before the opening of channel 15, the linden was already ready for all six judges of this type.

Motor ships were distinguished by high level of comfort. Passengers sat on soft sofas. On the ships there was a smoking room, a reading room, a restaurant. For the convenience of the passengers of the motor ship, they were equipped with scorched, ventilated, radio-broadcasting railings, roaring (so that they did not strain the eyes) lighting. The brainchild of Rechsudoproekt is another type of “channel” motor ships, which has taken the name “Gromov” (also known as “Chkalov type”).

The People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs organized a competition for the best modern look of a possible motor ship, but the drafts were not submitted to the right, and the ship's modern look was broken up by the Rechsudproekt itself. It is not enough for the vessel to reach the highest speed (25-30 km/year), the model of the possible motor ship was tested in a wind tunnel. With the method of lowering the support along the ship, they gave an obtіchnu form with a low nadbudovoy.

One of the minds, hanging by the deputy, buv maximum comfort for passengers. The ship has two passenger cabins. The closed saloon for 92 months was expanded in the bow part in front of the felling, behind the felling under the awning it was 68 months. The place is possessed by calorific scorching.

It was due to the fact that the designers did not get far enough to push the hard engine (the big hard engines did not go near the narrow building).

The remaining project was completed on the cob in 1936. Until the onset of fate, the plant won a seal, calling six judgments.
